The Patient Care Process

Case-based learning activities, skills lab activities, and interprofessional learning activities prepare students to use a patient-centered approach in collaboration with other health professionals in order to optimize patient health and medication outcomes. This is accomplished by learning the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process. Students are introduced to this process at the beginning of the curriculum and continually develop skills in using the process across the four-year curriculum.

The Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process was developed by a group of national pharmacy organizations working under the direction of JCPP (Joint Commission of Pharmacy Practitioners): http://jcpp.net/patient-care-process/
