The UF College of Pharmacy Medication Therapy Management, or MTM, Certificate will provide focused, comprehensive MTM training for student pharmacists. As students progress through the program they will gain foundational knowledge of MTM, managed care organizations, and performance measures influenced by MTM services. Students will also learn how to plan, develop, and manage a successful MTM business. In performing comprehensive medication reviews in practice and with actual patients, students should achieve improved self-efficacy in providing MTM services. Upon completion of the certificate student pharmacists will have attained expanded skills and extensive experience in order to perform and manage MTM services.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate foundational knowledge to providing MTM services
- Develop an MTM business plan by assessing various practice models, MTM documentation software platforms, and basic financial principles
- Provide patient care through performing Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs)
- Demonstrate self-efficacy in providing MTM Services

Certificate Purpose
The UF College of Pharmacy MTM Certificate promotes the development of pharmacists into MTM providers. By providing opportunities for pharmacist students to learn MTM principles, develop communication and clinical skills related to MTM and put this knowledge into practice, UF College of Pharmacy MTM Certificate graduates will be prepared to effectively provide comprehensive MTM services in any practice setting, and can influence clinical systems in their future practice setting.
